Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will my daughter be cheering for her brother?
A. It is our ultimate goal to have sisters cheer for their brothers’ team…BUT if a full squad

(8-10 girls) cannot be formed for that specific team, then we cannot honor this request.

Q. How will my daughter be places on a squad?
A. The number of squads will depend upon the number of participants. A squad will consist of approx. 8-10 girls. Other factors that may be taken into consideration are experience, height, age, and attitude. ‘Brother’ requests will be given first priority (see above answer). If a girl does not have a ‘brother’ request then she will be placed dependant upon the need of the vari- ous squads.

Q. What is my financial responsibility?
A. You are required to pay the appropriate registration fee. A minimum deposit of $100 is re- quired at the time of registration. Your balance is due no later than the uniform fitting day…May 31, 2012.
In addition, each participant will be required to participate in a mandatory fundraiser
for $100.

Q. What if I change my mind and cannot participate in Cheer?
A. We have a $100 non-refundable deposit. All requests for a refund must be made in writing and must be post-marked and mailed to PO Box 3091 Ventura, CA 93006 on or before May 1,2012. Absolutely no refunds will be issued for any reason after May 1st, 2012.

Q. Can my daughter be on the same squad as her friend?
A. We cannot make any promises. This request must be made in writing please and we will do our best to accommodate this request.
Girls who have a ‘brother’ request will be given first priority.

Q. Where will we be cheering?
A. Our priority is to have all squads cheer at only home games. Occasionally a squad may be asked to cheer outside of Ventura (ie. Oxnard, Santa Paula, Fillmore) Our home games take place at Ventura High School.

Q. What if we can’t make a game?
A. For last minute notification, please call or text your coach PRIOR to the time your cheer- leader is scheduled on the field. For all other absences, an email is sufficient.

Q. What if we can’t make practice?
A. It is very important to make all practices. Not just for the cheerleader as an individual but the squad as a team. They are counting on each other as a squad to complete stunts and dance routines. A call/email/text must be made to your coach PRIOR to practice.

Q. Do I have to attend the game with my daughter?
A. While we encourage you to stay and cheer on your daughter as well as the team playing, you are not required to stay. But, you must be prompt upon pick up.

Q. How will my daughter get to her games?
A. You will be responsible for getting your daughter to and from all games. Car pools are al- ways an option and encouraged. A cheerleading roster will be provided to you with contact information for your convenience.

Q. What is my level of participation as a parent?
A. Every family will be asked to volunteer during our season at some point. There will be many opportunities throughout the season including but not limited to team moms, snacks, bake sale, and car wash, etc.
