Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will my daughter be cheering for her brother?
A. It is our ultimate goal to have sisters cheer for their brothers’ team…BUT if a full squad (6‐8 girls) cannot be formed, then we cannot honor this request.

Q. How will my daughter be placed on a squad?
A. The number of squads will depend upon the number of participants. A squad will consist of approx.6‐8 girls. ‘Brother’ requests will be given first priority (see above answer). If a girl does not have a ‘brother’ request then she will be placed dependant upon the need to make full squads.

Q. What is my financial responsibility?
A. You are required to pay the appropriate registration fee (details on Reg. Fees sheet). A minimum deposit of $100 is required at the time of registration. Your balance is due no later than June 5th at the uniform fitting. Each participant will be required to raise $100 by selling 10 presale Carwash tickets. You have the option to opt out of selling the carwash tickets by paying $100.

Q. What if I change my mind and cannot participate in Cheer?
A. We have a $100 non‐refundable deposit. All requests for a refund must be made in writing and must be post‐marked and mailed to PO Box 3091 Ventura, CA 93006 on or before May 15th 2010. Absolutely no refunds will be issued for any reason after May 15th 2010.

Q. Can my daughter be on the same squad as her friend?
A. We cannot make any promises. This request must be made in writing please and we will do our best to accommodate this request. Girls who have a ‘brother’ request will be given first priority.

Q. Where will we be cheering?
A. Our priority is to have the squads cheer at home games. Occasionally a squad may be asked to cheer outside of Ventura (ie. Oxnard, Santa Paula, Fillmore). Our home games take place at Ventura College and Ventura High School.

Q. What if we can’t make a game?
A. A phone call must be made to your coach or directors prior to the game. Please refer to the Cheerleaders Code of Conduct for details.

Q. What if we can’t make practice?
A. A phone call must be made to your coach or directors prior to practice. Please refer to the Cheerleaders Code of Conduct for details.

Q. Can my daughter cheer for a different game not on her cheer schedule?
A. We are open to traveling to games if: 1) it doesn’t interfere with her mandatory game, 2) a full squad of 6 or more can attend, and 3) a coach or director can attend.

Q. Do I have to attend the game with my daughter?
A. While we encourage you to stay and cheer on your daughter as well as the team playing, you are not required to stay.

Q. How will my daughter get to her games?
A. You will be responsible for getting your daughter to and from all games. Car pools are always an option. A cheerleading roster will be provided with contact information for your convenience.

Q. What is my level of participation as a parent?
A. Every family will be asked to volunteer during our season at some point. There will be many opportunities throughout the season including but not limited to Team Moms, making banners, bringing snacks, bake sales or etc. Thank you in advance for your support.
