Ventura Buccaneers get new photo & video gallery

Players and Parents,

We have set up a brand new gallery section for the Ventura Buccaneers.  The new gallery has many features and improvements over our previous version.  Here are some of the features included in the new photo and video gallery:

• Easily find photos in your teams gallery
• View large/full size versions of all photos
• Rate and comment on photos
• Share photos with others via email or direct link
• View in standard or slideshow format
• Purchase prints of gallery photos
• Purchase merchandise printed with selected photos
• Watch high quality video clips from the entire season
• Upload you own images to the galley (email admin for instructions)

Have a look at the gallery today… new photos and videos are being uploaded daily!  Thank you to everyone that has been so generous in providing the chapter with their photo CD’s to share with everyone.

Ventura Buccaneers end of season banquet

Parents & Players,

The Ventura Buccaneers end of season banquet will be held on Saturday December 13, 2008 at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura.  The banquet will start at 11:00 AM and end around 4:00 PM.

Important information:

1. Each player will receive 4 meal tickets.  Each additional ticket is $5.00.  You will need to RSVP with your team Mom and specify the total number of tickets that you will need no later than December 1st.  The meal tickets also double as raffle tickets.  Some raffle prizes include 1 year Maverick’s Gym family membership, 1 year FREE Ventura Buccaneers player registration, Ventura Buccaneers apparel and many other great prizes!
2. The park charges $5.00 for parking on Saturdays so please make sure you have cash with you.  Parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood, however, it is a long walk to the back of the park.
3. All players are required to wear their GAME JERSEY to the banquet.
4. Each family is responsible for either a drink or desert.  Your team Mom can provide you with additional information.
5. 2008 Season Yearbooks will be distributed at the banquet.  Yearbooks will be approximately 40-50 pages and includes a photo DVD full of great photos from the 2008 football season.  Yearbooks will need to be pre-ordered with your team Mom.

Ventura College Pirates…

Attention all Ventura Buccaneers!

Get out this Saturday night and support our local Ventura College Pirates while they take on the Moorpark College Raiders.  The game will be played at Larrabee stadium this Saturday November 15th at 7:00 PM.  Make sure you attend and wear your Ventura Buccaneers game jersey and apparel to help show your support!

We look forward to seeing the entire Ventura Buccaneer family for a great night of football!

Ventura’s Bernal named to advisory committee for USA Football

Gus Bernal was just an interested parent wanting to learn more about coaching youth football.

But once the Ventura resident started doing some research four years ago, he noticed there weren’t a lot of resources available.

He finally came across the Web site for USA Football, and began attending the organization’s clinics.
He would provide feedback to USA Football’s regional representatives, and share his knowledge with other local coaches.

Bernal’s devotion didn’t go unnoticed.

On Tuesday, Bernal was officially named to the inaugural USA Football Youth Coaches Advisory Committee. Continue reading…

Organization from Gold Coast Youth Football League partners with USA Football for coaching education

Sept. 24 - Helping foster great football experiences for its youngsters, the Gold Coast Youth Football League’s Ventura Buccaneers football program in southwest California has enrolled all seven of its head coaches into USA Football’s Certified Coaching Education Program (C.C.E.P.).  USA Football, the national governing body of youth and amateur football, has trained more than 16,000 youth football coaches nationwide since March 2007 to further strengthen the sport. Buccaneers Car/Window Stickers

Stickers are now available…

We have ordered and received new car/window stickers.  The new stickers are thicker and much more durable.  They will be available at the snack bar this weekend and next.  We will also have them at the practice field this Friday and all next week.  The new stickers sell for $7.00.
